Deadlines race. Priorities shift. The pressure’s on. But Rivers doesn’t flinch. His Zen-like approach to chaos keeps his whole team grounded, steady and moving forward.
Before joining AHA, he edited a coffee trade magazine—a job that took him around the world to report on the social, economic and environmental aspects of coffee production. Here, he draws on that experience to tell the human-scale stories that make corporate responsibility feel credible and relevant. A few high notes: He helped Tiffany & Co. raise awareness of ethical diamond sourcing and served as editorial lead for the 2013 Microsoft Citizenship Report.
Even when he’s not at work, calm is kind of his thing. He’s a two-time veteran of weeklong silent retreats (as in, no speaking at all). He’s also a dedicated practitioner of mindfulness mediation. In short? Rivers has mastered the art of chill.
