Nick isn’t as simple as he’d like to be. Every day, he works to make his writing tighter, crisper, less complicated. He’s happiest when the words get out of their own way and let the ideas feel delightful and easy. His favorite concepts are the ones so straightforward they feel like somebody should have thought of them already. So he pulls his hair out to find the obvious, yet undiscovered, solution.
In his free time, Nick likes the simple joy of swimming in cold water. Mountain rivers, northern lakes, anything that stings to the touch. He wades in, curses under his breath, then plunges. He loves that first moment of immersion when every nerve ending fires at once, shredding all thoughts but the obvious. The fact that he is alive.
