In my family we never frost this cake.

Beware this highly snackable cake that’s neither overly sweet or deathly chocolatey. And embrace the Miracle Whip (not mayonnaise). It’s the thing that allows you to have chocolate cake when you don’t have eggs or milk or butter.

Sift together:

2 c. flour

1 c. sugar

1/4 t. salt

2 t. baking soda

1/3 c. cocoa powder

Add:

1 c. Miracle Whip

1 c. cold water

1 t. vanilla

Bake 35 mins @ 350 degrees.
